Valentines and Presidents Day

Valentines Day was so much fun this year! Of course I didn't take a single picture, I really need to get better about that. We started the day out with having a Valentine Party with all his Joy School friends. It was my day to teach them anyways so we played a bunch of games, read books, did a couple of crafts (thank you Pinterest!) and then had them exchange Valentine cards to each other. The night before I made a lot of sugar cookies and pink frosting, so when his Joy School friends left, Colton and I decorated about 4 dozen cookies. He loved being in charge of the decorating - sprinkles and conversation hearts. We then spent the rest of the afternoon (about 4 hours) delivering them to friends and family members. It was really a lot of fun getting to be with people we loved all day long and surprising them with a fun holiday treat! I think I'm going to make that a tradition that we do every year on Valentines. That night Joe and I went to dinner to one of our favorite restaurants, Royal India, and then went and saw the new Sherlock Holmes movie. Thank you Mom for watching the kids!

For Presidents Day weekend we made our annual trek to warmer weather in St. George. It's so nice to be able to escape the winter weather of SLC to more of a "spring weather" climate. We felt even better when there was a snow storm at home on one of the days we were gone and it barely rained in St. George! We spent the long weekend playing outside, having picnics at parks, going on hikes, and attending the Parade of Homes. We LOVE going to all the homes $700k+ and seeing all the fun features of really expensive homes. Even the kids enjoyed it!

Colton's favorite thing to do in St. George is to feed the ducks. We stay near an awesome pond with tons of ducks, geese, and swan!

Kylie really loved it too.

This goose stayed right next to us. A little too close.

Kylie got to play in grass for her first time! She also learned how to sit up by herself on this trip.
