Amazing book! I can't believe all that this man went through. I really liked that I learned new things about WWII. When I think of that war I mainly think of what was happening in Europe and to the Jews, this taught me about what was going on in Japan at the same time. An excellent book that I'd recommend to everyone!

I just finished reading this also. I enjoyed it but had a hard time picking it up at times because of all of the horrible things this man went through.
