After months of searching for a home, one house falling through due to the inspection finding mega water damage, we finally found one that we love! It's not officially ours yet, but we will be closing by the end of the month. Although we'll have the house about a week before the baby is born, there's no way I can pack and move being this pregnant. Plus, I don't want to have a newborn in a construction zone. We're going to take the month of July and re-floor, paint, and do some minor repairs on the whole house.
One requirement that I had in finding a house was for it to be older with mature trees. And boy does this house have huge trees!
| Front of the house with 4 huge pines, and 3 other trees that my Grandpa told me what they were but now I can't remember. There's also a basketball goal which Colton already loves. |
| This tree is in the backyard and I could marry it I love it so much. I already have visions of tree houses and tire swings hanging from it. |
| View from the top deck - a wonderful view of a golf course and mountains! |

| My second love with this house is the kitchen. Amazing windows with tons of natural light PLUS a desk in the kitchen! It's a really big deal for me that the family computer be in a high-traffic area of the home so that I can always see what my kids are doing online. Plus there's space above the desk for many of my cookbooks! |
| My third love is the openness of all the rooms and the shutters on the windows. And that window seat. I always wanted a window seat growing up that I could read books on. Dream come true! |
| All the kids' rooms have window seats with storage too! Colton doesn't know how lucky he has it. (Like the pink fan on top of the window? You can definitely tell old people lived there prior!) |
| Another love I have of this house are the built-ins. This book case/cabinet is at the top of the stairs. I get so giddy picturing all my books in there instead of the cheap-o book cases I bought in college. |
| This built-in is in the dining area but I'm not really a formal dining kinda girl so I think it may store some toys and games in the cabinet and then who knows what up top. I'm not really a fine china kinda girl to be able to display it. Any ideas? |
There's lots of other things I love about the house - the size, the unfinished basement that Joe can tinker with over the years, the size of the yard, location, the openness of the space, neighborhood, all the windows, the two-story deck, and the chance to do upgrades and make it our own!
