We decided to celebrate Colton's birthday a couple of weeks early this year. I'm going to be having a c-section on the 5th and his real birthday is on the 9th, and for some reason I didn't see myself being in a big party mood 4 days after Baby Girl arrives!
Colton was a big helper all day and even offered to help me make his birthday cake! Of course, I really knew this meant that he just wanted to lick the spoons and bowls when I was done.
We started the festivities out by going to see Cars 2. Both sets of grandparents joined us as well as Aunt Jilly Poo.
Afterwards we went across the parking lot to Pizza Planet and ate some delicious pizza (my favorite was the baked potato pizza) and played lots of arcades, go karts, bowling, and some mini golf. Aunt Carrie joined us here but Grandpa Bryan had to leave to do some Search and Rescue training.
After all that fun we headed over to my parents house for birthday cake and presents. I made dirt cake (thank you Cassie for the idea!) and Colton got some really great presents - new shoes, shirts, pajamas, the tractor his cake came in, a rocking truck, and a Lightning McQueen scooter!

Colton is one of my favorite little boys ever! I can't believe he's 3 already. Time surely flies!
I love his cake, and I'm glad he got his own scooter! In about 18 months we'll borrow yours for a while. . . :)
You're such a good mom!
looks like it was an awesome birthday!!
Aw, it looks like you guys had such a great time! How did he do at Cars 2? Had he been to a movie before? I want to take Andrew but I'm nervous that he won't sit for very long.
