Dairy Days

Today we went with some friends to Dairy Days at Thanksgiving Point and had a lot of fun! Right when we got there they handed out chocolate milk and popsicles, so the kids were heaven. Colton got to play quite a few fun games and win prizes and also learned how to make some yummy food!

Ring Toss - he pretty much just walked up to the cows and put the hula hoop around their necks.
Making Butter - they put some cream in a container and then we got to shake it up for 15 minutes and make butter. It was really yummy tasting!
Cow Race - Colton and another little girl were supposed to race each other holding the cows but they were just running around in circles. Didn't quite catch the concept.
Cow Train - always a hit! I actually put his butter in the train with him because it was such a bumpy ride and it made the butter for us.
Making Ice Cream - This was my favorite activity. They put all the ingredients in a bag that you shake for 10 minutes and then we got to eat the delicious vanilla ice cream. It was really easy to do and really did taste like homemade ice cream.
Not pictured - Colton throwing a ball and hitting milk jugs where he won a soccer ball and Cow Pie Bingo.

I think making ice cream in a bag will be a really fun summer activity for kids so I got the recipe and posted it on my recipe blog here!

I'm so sad I missed it! Keep me posted on any other sweet things they have going there, though. However, working made all the difference. I feel 100 times better about life. Weird, huh?
