Mother's Day 2011

I had a great Mother's Day weekend! Saturday morning Joe took me to brunch at Thanksgiving Point and it was sooooo delicious. I'm making that a yearly tradition from now on. Afterwards, we went to the nursery and bought all the vegetables and herbs that we plan on growing this summer, and then came home and worked in the garden. I loved it! We bought Colton some Lightning McQueen gardening gloves, so he was in heaven too. He's actually always been a great helper in the garden and didn't fail us over the weekend. On Sunday we had breakfast with Joe's parents - the men made French toast with fruit. And then we had dinner with my parents - my dad made us ribs and potato salad and Joe provided fruit and a green salad. It was a great day!

I'm so happy that I get to be Colton and Baby Girl's mom. I love them both so much! I'm also grateful for a wonderful husband because he really does help me be a better mother. I wanted to record some cute things that Colton has been saying lately that makes me happy to be a mom:

  • Whenever anyone asks him who loves him the most he immediately answers, "My Mommy does!"
  • "Mommy, I love your beautiful hair."
  • "I'm going to make you sad! I'm going to make you cry!" When I say ok to this he then says "No Mommy! No!" I then pretend to cry and then he gives me hugs and kisses and says, "It's ok Mommy, I love you." It's really cute.
  • "Mommy, I'm tired. Can I sleep on your arm?"
  • "Let's have some fun today!"
  • I'll ask Colton if we're best friends and he answers, "Yes, you're my favorite!"
  • Any time he sings a song, tries to tickle, or reads a book to Baby Sister.
  • "I have strong muscles, I'll do that for you."
  • "Mommy, are you feeling ok? Do you want a massage?" Then he pokes me over and over again, that's his definition of a massage.
  • "I need you to sing me a song so I'll be happy."
  • There's probably more cute things but that's all I can think of right now!

Happy Mother's Day, Lisa! It sounds like you had a truly wonderful day with your family. And that Colton sounds like such a sweet boy, and quite a character too!

Hi Lisa,

Sorry for contacting you through your comments section but I couldn't find an email address on your blog. I'm contacting you because I'm trying to get the word out about my new site: www.MommyGiggles.com.

Mommy Giggles is a site where moms submit funny pictures to share with other moms to get a giggle out of. They can either be pictures of their kids or of other hilarious “mommy moments”

I am contacting you to see if you have a funny picture that I could post – we would of course give you the credit, and also post your blog (if you want). There is also a $25 Amazon Gift card drawing to everyone who submits a photo each month.

I would also appreciate if you could spread the word about Mommy Giggles to other moms too!

Hope you will get a “giggle” out of the site.

Warmest Regards,

Heather Matthews
